Fun deployment present (or just a fun craft)

I have been wracking my brain trying to think of a fun, sweet and CHEAP thing to send to my husband for Valentines day. The kids made homemade presents and I thought I would too. Then I found this page with a how-to guide to make origami stars. PERFECT!

So this is what I did.

I followed the instructions in the link above (NOTE: it can be kind of tricky but once you get the hang of it you can make them in about 30 seconds.)

I changed one thing, though..

I put special messages inside for him to open. They are things I miss when he is gone or just things I love about him. I'm not sure how many I will make, probably until I get tired. But it might be fun to make one for every day he is gone, so he can open one each day. Or one a week, etc.
Of course you could always make one a week for you or your kids, something inspirational.

The beginning of my stash.

I thought they were too perfect for this occasion! I hope he loves them!
