Homemade Beer Bread

I have several friends who sell Tastefully Simple. If you haven't tried them, do. Everything I have had from them is delicious and incredibly easy to make. Perfect for busy households, or lazy days.

Anyway, I love TS's beer bread. It is my absolute favorite thing I have tried. I made some homemade broccoli and cheese soup (recipe link at the bottom) and wanted some beer bread to go with it but I had run out of the TS stuff. I made the decision to try and make it on my own. It was so easy and just as good!

First pre-heat your oven to 375 and grease a 9x5 bread pan
Mix together, in a bowl, the following ingredients:
-3 cups flour
-1 tbsp baking powder
-1 tsp salt
-3 tbsp sugar

Once mixed together well, add a bottle (or can) of beer. In my opinion light beers taste the best. Thick, dark beers don't work very well.
Stir together well (it will be lumpy) and pour into pan.

I like to melt 2-3 tbsp butter and pour it on top of the batter, too.

Put it in the oven for 40-55 minutes. It depends on your oven. Mine runs hot and cooks fast so I can get away with 40 minutes.

When it's cooked, immediately remove from the pan and let it cool for about 30 minutes. Slice and serve!

You can have fun with the beer too. I have tried pumpkin beer in the fall and this time I used Blue Moon's Winter Abby Ale. You can add different spices to it or even some cheese too! Have fun, and enjoy!

Here is the link for the Panera broccoli cheese soup. I made it mostly to the recipe. I only added a little more cheese and didn't do the nutmeg. It was very tasty.
